BIo:
Lesa Cash is a Hudson Valley–based emerging artist whose work is deeply influenced by the beauty, mystery, and struggle found in the natural world. Working across photography, encaustic, painting, mixed media, and poetry, Lesa embraces an intuitive and ever-evolving creative process. Her work has been locally exhibited and published and has been featured in juried solo and group exhibitions. Along the way, her work has been rejected, sold, and awarded—and she loves every part of the process, from the first spark of an idea to a piece finding a home.. Lesa has led workshops for local art councils and participated in art events at national historic sites. Her creative practice extends beyond fine art; she has designed logos for local small businesses and created custom tattoo designs. A lifelong love of antiques, history, and repurposing frequently finds its way into her work. She often creates on found objects or incorporates vintage frames that she personally restores, giving discarded and forgotten pieces a new life. For Lesa, making art is as much about discovery as it is about the finished work—a continual conversation between nature, history, materials, and imagination.
Statement:
Where Her Dragon Flies and Water Falls - This piece expresses the peace I find in the natural world when the world is asleep. The moon lights my way, falling water becomes my soundtrack, and the pines are my perfume. In this dark solitude, I find strength and balance. My smallness becomes unmistakable, yet there is profound comfort in knowing that something much greater is always at play—something beyond my mortal self, my problems, and my insecurities. For this time, I am simply part of something vast, ancient, and alive.
