Nocturne & Catawampus Group Exhibition

This October, Arbor Gallery leans into the mysterious, dreamlike, and beautifully off-kilter with Nocturne & Catawampus, a group exhibition featuring work by 37 artists.

A nocturne is a work inspired by night, while catawampus means crooked, askew, or out of the usual order. Together, the theme invited artists to explore moonlight, shadow, folklore, unusual botanicals, curious creatures, altered perspectives, symbolism, and the strange ways familiar things can shift after dark.

The result is a varied collection of work that moves between atmospheric, surreal, whimsical, mysterious, and wonderfully strange interpretations of the theme.

Throughout the exhibition, Arbor Gallery will also be screening a rotating selection of classic public-domain films and short films chosen to complement the mood of the show. Screenings are free to gallery visitors, with a full October film schedule to the left.

Join artist Luis Fonseca as he guides you in the process on cyanotype printing. All materials included, and ages 8 - 88 yrs are welcome, no prior experience needed.
