Sunday, February 15, 2026 | 2:00–4:00 PM | Arbor Gallery
$35 per person
Sign-up deadline: February 12, 2026
Join artist Kelly Edwards for a hands-on workshop exploring her process for creating watercolor botanicals enhanced with luminous, iridescent inks. Kelly will share how she lightly sketches her design, uses a variety of techniques to paint her florals, and adds freehand line art details to create a gilded venation look—then guide you as you create your own piece.
The workshop includes:
A brief look at the history of floral meanings and how flowers have been used to communicate
Tips on composition and arranging botanicals for a strong, balanced design
Live demonstrations of Kelly’s watercolor + iridescent ink technique
Hands-on assistance throughout the class
An option to use gel pens for ease or calligraphy pens for more of a challenge
Supplies:
Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite watercolors, brushes (around a size 6), and paper (cold pressed 140lb or higher is highly encouraged). Some materials will be available, and ink + pens will be provided for the line art details. Kelly Edwards will be using Arches or Fluid 100 cold pressed paper in a 140lb block.
Perfect for beginners through experienced painters—come learn new techniques, ask questions, and leave with a botanical artwork that shimmers.
